Lavish Scalp Treatment

The Lavish Scalp Treatment cleanses and exfoliates the scalp, lifts away product buildup, relieves dryness and irritation, and boosts circulation at the root. It is the treatment guests talk about more than any other service we offer, partly because of the massage and partly because a genuinely clean scalp changes how your hair behaves for weeks afterward.

Why the Scalp Gets Ignored

Because it is skin, and we treat it like a surface to get through on the way to the hair. Everything you put on your hair eventually lands there: dry shampoo, texture spray, hairspray, conditioner residue, plus the oil your scalp makes and the skin cells it sheds. Ordinary shampooing at home does not shift all of it, and it accumulates.

The result is a scalp that feels tight or itchy, roots that go oily faster than they should, flaking that gets mistaken for dandruff, and hair that will not hold volume at the root. Healthy hair grows out of healthy skin, so this treatment starts where the hair does.

What the Treatment Does

  • Cleanses more thoroughly than a standard shampoo, taking off the buildup a normal wash leaves behind.
  • Exfoliates, clearing dead skin from around the follicle.
  • Rebalances, which helps both an oily scalp and a dry one, since both are often the same problem in different directions.
  • Relieves dryness and irritation, the tight, itchy feeling that comes with winter heating.
  • Boosts circulation through massage at the root.

You leave with the scalp feeling clean, calm and refreshed, and with hair that is noticeably lighter at the root.

When to Book One

  • Winter. Indoor heating on the South Coast dries scalps out from November onward. This is the busiest reason.
  • After a summer of salt water, chlorine and sunscreen.
  • If you use a lot of dry shampoo. It works by absorbing oil and it stays until something takes it off.
  • If your roots go greasy within a day. An overloaded scalp often overproduces oil.
  • Before a color appointment. A clean, calm scalp is a better surface to color against.
  • When you need forty minutes to yourself, which is a completely legitimate reason to book it.

Flaking Is Not Always Dandruff

Product buildup, a dry scalp and actual dandruff all flake, and they need different answers. Your stylist will look at your scalp and tell you honestly which one it looks like. If it looks like something medical rather than something cosmetic, we will say so and suggest you see a doctor, because that is not a salon's call to make.

Pairing It With Other Services

A scalp treatment and a blow dry together is the most booked combination in the salon, and it is a genuinely good hour and a half. It also pairs well before a color service. If your problem is the hair rather than the scalp, dry ends or dullness through the mid lengths, look at the Hydration Experience or the Shine Experience instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a scalp treatment just a head massage?

The massage is part of it and it is the part everyone remembers, but the treatment itself is cleansing and exfoliating the scalp. A massage on its own does not clear buildup.

How often should I have one?

As often as your scalp asks for it. Some guests add one to every color appointment, others book seasonally when the heating goes on. There is no schedule you have to keep.

Will it help with flaking?

If the flaking is buildup or dryness, usually yes. If it is a medical scalp condition, this is not a treatment for that and your stylist will tell you what they are seeing rather than guess.

Can I have it with color on the same day?

Yes, and before the color is the better order. Mention both when you book so the time is set aside.

Does it make my hair oily or flat?

The opposite. Clearing buildup off the scalp is what lets the root lift, so most guests find their hair holds volume better afterward.

How long does the appointment take?

It is a short add on rather than a long appointment, which is why it slots so easily alongside other services. The duration is on the Service Menu.

Current pricing is on the Service Menu.

The other two: Shine Experience and Hydration Experience. All three are on the Lavish Experiences page.
