Which Color Service Should You Book?

Start from the outcome rather than the technique. Almost every guest fits one of these:

• Brightness around my face, soft grow out. Book a Partial Highlight.
• Brightness everywhere, a real transformation. Book a Full Highlight.
• Just a few bright pieces at the front. Book Mini Highlights.
• One solid shade, or going darker. Book Full Color.
• My gray covered properly. Book Full Color, then Root Touch-Ups in between.
• My color has gone dull or warm. Book a Gloss or Toner.
• My hair frizzes and I want it smooth. Book a Keratin Treatment.

The Seven Color Services

Partial Highlight

Highlights or balayage through the top and sides, leaving the back in your natural depth. The most requested service on this menu, because the grow out is soft and the maintenance is realistic. Full details on the Partial Highlight.

Mini Highlights

Up to twelve foils, placed at the face frame, along the part or hidden underneath as a peekaboo. The shortest color appointment we offer. Full details on Mini Highlights.

Full Highlight

Every section lightened, including the back and the underneath. This is the one behind a genuine blonde transformation, and where a big jump is involved we will plan it across more than one visit. Full details on the Full Highlight.

Full Color

One even shade from roots to ends. The right call for going darker, returning to your natural, or covering gray solidly. This is not a blonding service. Full details on Full Color.

Root Touch-Up

Regrowth only, blended into the color already in your hair, every four to eight weeks. Your ends are deliberately left alone. Full details on the Root Touch-Up.

Gloss / Toner

A sheer layer of tone and shine that finishes almost every color service and works beautifully on its own when your color has faded. No lightener involved. Full details on Gloss and Toner.

Keratin Treatment

A Keratin Complex smoothing treatment for frizz and manageability. Booked after color, not before. Full details on the Keratin Treatment.

How We Work

Every color appointment starts the same way, with your stylist looking at what is already in your hair. Previous color, box dye, how porous the ends are, how much gray and how coarse it is: all of it changes the formula, and none of it can be assessed from a photo.

Then we talk about your real life. How often you wash, whether you use hot tools, how long you want between appointments, and how you feel about upkeep. We want your hair to look amazing, but it also has to work for your real life, and a color that only looks right for two weeks is not a good color.

We formulate with Goldwell color and lightener, the salon is Goldwell certified, and our team attends multiple continuing education classes every year to stay current on technique and trend.

Bringing an Inspiration Photo

Please do. It tells your stylist what you are drawn to faster than any description. What we will do is customize it to you instead of copying the picture exactly, because the person in the photo started from a different base, has a different texture, and has a different life. We can absolutely get you there, but we want to keep your hair healthy along the way, and sometimes that means a plan across two appointments rather than one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What color service should I book if I am not sure?

Work backward from the result you want using the list at the top of this page. If none of them obviously fits, book a consultation or ask when you call and we will point you at the right one.

Do I need a consultation before booking color?

No. Consultations are required only for extension and mesh integration services. For color we always offer one, and it is genuinely useful if you are planning a big change.

What is the difference between highlights, balayage, lived-in and dimensional color?

Highlights and balayage are techniques, foils versus hand painting. Lived-in and dimensional describe the finished look, meaning the root is softer and there is more than one tone through the hair. You can get a lived-in result with either technique.

Why might my result look different from my inspiration photo?

Because your starting point is different. The color already in your hair, your natural level and your texture all affect where a single session can land. Your stylist will tell you at the chair how close one appointment gets you.

How often will I need to maintain my color?

It depends entirely on the service. Root touch-ups run every four to eight weeks. Partial highlights stretch to four or five months. A gloss in between keeps any of them looking newer for longer.

Do professional hair products really make a difference?

On colored hair, yes, and mostly because of what they leave out. Sulfates strip tone. We carry Shibui and Aluram in the salon and your stylist will recommend based on your hair rather than on price.
