Mesh Integration

Mesh integration is a system for women with thinning hair who want natural looking fullness back. A fine, breathable mesh is fitted to your own hair, and custom colored hair is blended into it to build density exactly where it is missing. Lavish Hair Lounge is mesh integration certified, and the consultation is free and private. Your own hair stays underneath, able to move and breathe.

How It Differs From Extensions

This is the question we get most, and the answer decides which service you should be booking.

Extensions attach to your own hair. That means you need enough natural hair, in good enough condition, to carry the weight. Mesh integration works the other way round. The mesh itself carries the added hair, so it does not depend on your density to hold it, and your own hair is not being asked to support anything.

That is why mesh integration is often the answer for someone who has been told they do not have enough hair for extensions. If you are not sure which side of that line you are on, the consultation will tell you, and we will say so plainly either way.

Who It Suits

Mesh integration may be a good fit if you:

  • Notice thinning around the crown or along your part line.
  • Feel like your hair has lost density or fullness over time.
  • Cannot get the volume you used to, whatever you do to it.
  • Want coverage without the look or feel of traditional extensions.
  • Have been told there is not enough natural hair to support an extension install.
  • Want something that blends with the hair you have rather than replacing it.

What Happens in the Consultation

It is one to one, private, and free. Nothing is decided in it except whether this is right for you.

  • Your stylist assesses your hair density and where the thinning actually is.
  • You talk through your hair history, your routine and what you want back.
  • Together you decide whether mesh integration is the right solution, or whether something else is.
  • Customization options and honest maintenance expectations get covered.
  • You leave with a personalized estimate for your hair, not a range off a page.

We cannot give you a mesh integration price over the phone or through a DM, and we would rather explain why than guess. The system is built for your head. How much hair it needs, how it is colored and how it is fitted all change the number, and none of that can be assessed from a photo. Quoting blind would set an expectation we could not honor.

Living With a Mesh Integration System

Your hair should still look good weeks after you leave the salon, and this is a system you actually live in rather than something you take on and off.

  • You can wash, dry, style and curl your hair. Your stylist will show you how at your fitting.
  • Your own hair sits underneath and moves freely, which is what keeps it comfortable over a long day.
  • Maintenance visits are on a schedule set for you, because your natural hair grows and the fit needs adjusting.
  • Custom colored hair is blended in, so the color moves with your color when you have it refreshed.
  • Keeping the maintenance appointments is what keeps the blend invisible. It is the same principle as extension move-ups.

Being Honest About What It Is

Mesh integration is a customized system, and customized means we listen first. It is not a cure for hair loss and we will never present it as one. What it does is give you back fullness and the confidence that comes with it, while looking after the hair you still have. If your thinning has a medical cause worth investigating, we will say that too, because that is a conversation for your doctor rather than for a salon chair.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is mesh integration, and how is it different from traditional extensions?

A breathable mesh is fitted to your existing hair and custom colored hair is blended into the mesh. Extensions attach directly to your own hair and need enough of it to carry the weight. With mesh, the mesh does the carrying, so your natural hair supports nothing.

Can mesh integration help if I do not have enough hair for extensions?

That is one of the main reasons it exists, and it is why guests who have been turned away from extensions elsewhere end up in this chair. The consultation will confirm whether it works for your particular pattern of thinning.

Will it look and feel natural?

The hair is custom colored to match yours and blended into the mesh to create density where it is missing, so it reads as your own hair with more of it. Comfort comes from the fit, which is why the system is built to your head rather than to a size.

Can I wash, style, curl and wear my hair normally?

Yes. The mesh is designed so your own hair moves freely underneath, and your stylist will walk you through washing and styling before you leave.

How often does mesh integration need maintaining?

On a regular cycle, set for you at your fitting, because your natural hair keeps growing and the fit has to keep up. Your stylist will give you the interval for your hair rather than a generic number.

Why is an in-person consultation necessary before booking?

Because we need to see and feel your hair to know whether this is the right service and what your system needs. It also means you understand the process, the investment and the upkeep before anything is ordered, which is fairer to you.

Why can you not give me a price over the phone?

The amount of hair, the color work and the fit are all specific to you, and those are what set the price. A number given without seeing your hair would be a guess, and we would rather give you an accurate estimate at the consultation.

Consultation pricing is on the Service Menu, and the mesh integration consultation is free.
