Why the Consultation Comes First

Extensions and mesh integration are the two services we will not book without seeing you first, and the reason is practical rather than procedural. We cannot accurately or responsibly quote this work over the phone, through a DM, or from a photo. In a consultation your stylist can see and feel your natural hair, and that is where the real answers come from.

What happens in the appointment:

• Your stylist assesses your density, length and the condition of your hair.
• You talk through what you actually want, length, fullness, or both.
• The right method is chosen for your hair and your lifestyle, not the method that is trending.
• Color is matched against hair we have in the salon, in daylight, on your head.
• Maintenance and the real time commitment get explained before you commit to anything.

The consultation is not an extra hurdle. It is how we make sure the service suits your hair and that you understand the process, the investment and the upkeep before we start.

Sew-In Rows, and Why the Count Matters

Our sew-in installs are built in rows, and the number of rows is chosen from your density and your goal rather than from a package.

• One row adds subtle length and a little fullness. Often the right answer for fine hair or a first install.
• Two rows is the most common install. Real length plus noticeable volume, and it still sits comfortably.
• Three rows is for maximum fullness and length, and it needs enough natural density underneath to carry it.

More is not better. An install that is too heavy for the hair holding it is uncomfortable and it is not kind to your own hair, which is why your stylist will sometimes recommend fewer rows than you came in asking for.

More Than Length

The most common reason guests book is not actually length. It is proportion. If your hair will not grow past a certain point, if the ends feel thin or unfinished, if your color looks beautiful but lacks fullness, extensions solve density rather than inches.

They are also very good at filling in areas that feel thinner than they used to, blending a growing out haircut, and adding the weight that makes fine hair hold a style. If thinning is the main concern and there is not much natural hair to attach to, mesh integration is often the better system and we will tell you that at the consultation.

Move-Ups: The Part Nobody Mentions

Your natural hair grows, so the row grows away from your scalp and has to be repositioned. That is a move-up, and it is the ongoing commitment that comes with extensions.

• Most guests are back for a move-up on a regular cycle set by their stylist at the install, based on how fast their hair grows.
• Skipping move-ups is the main cause of discomfort, tangling at the bond line and stress on your own hair.
• Book the next one at the appointment. It is the simplest way to keep an install comfortable and seamless.
• Brushing daily from the ends upward, and drying the bond area properly, is most of the home care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will extensions damage my natural hair?

Not when they are installed for your density and maintained on schedule. Damage comes from installs that are too heavy for the hair holding them and from skipped move-ups. Both of those are decisions, which is why the consultation and the maintenance cycle matter as much as the install itself.

Which extension method is right for me?

That is what the consultation answers. Your density, your length, your texture, how you style your hair and how much upkeep you want all point to a different method, and we are certified in several so there is no need to force one.

Why can you not quote extensions over the phone or through a DM?

Because the price depends on how much hair you need and which method suits you, and neither of those can be judged without seeing and feeling your hair. Quoting blind would either overcharge you or set an expectation we cannot meet.

Will people be able to tell I am wearing extensions?

That is the whole goal. Color matched in-salon, placement set to your density, and rows positioned so nothing shows when your hair moves or goes up.

Can I wear my hair up with extensions?

Yes. Row placement is planned with that in mind, so tell your stylist at the consultation if ponytails and buns are part of your everyday.

Are extensions only for length?

No, and fullness is the more common reason guests book. Extensions add density and weight, which is what makes fine hair hold a shape and makes ends look finished.

Do you supply the hair?

Yes. We stock extension hair in the salon, which is what lets us match your color in person during your consultation rather than ordering to a guess.
