Every Section, Not Just the Top

The difference between a full and a partial is not intensity, it is coverage. A full head means your stylist works the back and the nape as well as the part and the sides, so there is no darker block hiding underneath. Wear your hair up, flip it over, put it in a ponytail: it reads bright from every angle.

That matters more than people expect. Most guests who tell us their blonde looks patchy have had partials for years and are seeing the untouched back for the first time in a photo.

Full Balayage, Foilayage and Babylights

Full highlight is the booking. What happens inside it depends on the finish you are after.

• Full balayage is painted by hand for a diffused, sun grown look with the softest root.
• Foilayage paints and then wraps the section in foil, which drives more lift. It is how we get bright without going near the scalp.
• Babylights are very fine weaves that read as one solid, even blonde rather than as stripes.
• Teasylights blend the new lift into what is already there, which is what keeps a maintenance appointment from stacking a second line of demarcation.

We are Goldwell certified and formulate with Goldwell color and lightener, so the toner at the end is mixed for your hair rather than pulled from a shelf.

When It Takes More Than One Appointment

We can absolutely get you there, but we want to keep your hair healthy along the way. Hair lifts a certain number of levels safely in one sitting, and pushing past that is where breakage happens. A few situations that usually need a plan across two or more visits:

• Going from a dark natural base to a bright, cool blonde.
• Lifting through box dye or years of at home color, which never lifts evenly.
• Removing an old dark band while brightening the rest.
• Hair that is already fragile from heat or previous lightening.

Your stylist will tell you honestly at the chair which of these you are in, and roughly how many sessions to budget for. Nobody enjoys hearing it takes two appointments. Everybody prefers it to hair that snaps.

Keeping a Full Blonde Bright

• Most guests are back every three to four months for a full, sometimes with a gloss in between to refresh the tone.
• Blonde pulls warm from hard water, chlorine, sun and heat. That is chemistry, not a mistake in your color.
• A purple or blue based shampoo used once a week, not every wash, holds the tone without going ashy.
• We carry Shibui and Aluram and your stylist will match one to your hair. Professional product genuinely does behave differently on lightened hair.
• Bonded or protein treatments through the mid lengths keep lifted hair feeling like hair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get my inspiration photo in one appointment?

Sometimes, and sometimes not. It depends on what is already in your hair, how healthy it is, and how far the photo sits from where you are starting. Your stylist will be straight with you about it before anything is mixed.

How long does a full highlight take?

Three to four hours for most heads, including the toner and a blow dry. Long or very dense hair runs longer because every foil is placed by hand.

Is a full highlight bad for my hair?

Lightener does change the hair, so the honest answer is that technique and aftercare decide the outcome. We work in stages when a head needs it and we will not push a lift that the hair cannot take.

How often will I need to come back?

Three to four months is typical, and a gloss around the halfway mark keeps the tone fresh in between. Fine or fast growing hair may want it sooner.

Should I book a full or a partial?

If you want brightness everywhere including the back, book the full. If you mainly want it around your face and a softer grow out, a partial highlight is the better fit and it is a shorter appointment.

Can I go blonde if I have box dye in my hair?

Usually yes, with a plan. Box dye sits unevenly and often needs removing before it will lift cleanly, which is exactly the sort of thing worth talking through in person first.
